Freeway Joins The Punchline Academy for a Special Philadelphia Lyric League Series Cypher
Philly Brings the Bars
The Punchline Academy’s Lyric League Series touched down in Philadelphia, and this time the city brought some serious lyrical firepower.
For this special edition, Da Inphamus Amadeuz linked with Philly’s own Chuck Lawless to assemble a lineup of the city’s top underground spitters. Adding even more excitement was a special appearance from Philadelphia hip hop legend Freeway, bringing authentic State Property energy to the cypher.
The session was filmed outside Jordan Johnson’s seafood restaurant, turning a neighborhood business into the backdrop for another unforgettable moment in the nationwide Lyric League movement.

Few artists represent Philadelphia hip hop like Freeway. Rising to prominence through Roc-A-Fella Records and the legendary State Property collective, Freeway became known for his unmistakable voice, relentless delivery, and street-inspired storytelling.
His 2003 debut album, Philadelphia Freeway, delivered classics including “What We Do” featuring Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel and “Flipside” featuring Peedi Crakk.
Throughout his career, Freeway has collaborated with some of hip hop’s biggest names while maintaining his reputation as one of Philadelphia’s most respected MCs.
Chuck Lawless Brings Philly’s Underground Together
With Chuck Lawless helping assemble the lineup, the cypher gave hungry Philadelphia MCs an opportunity to showcase their skills alongside a hometown legend.
The location made the experience even more authentic. Jordan Johnson Seafood, a family-owned restaurant in Northeast Philadelphia, is known for its gourmet seafood, fried fish, shrimp and community-focused atmosphere. Turning the storefront into a cypher location brought together local business, music and neighborhood culture.
