The Punchline Academy Takes Over Roots Picnic Weekend With Special Shade 45 Live Broadcast
The Punchline Academy is bringing the energy to Philadelphia.
On Saturday, May 30th, Da Inphamus Amadeuz and The Punchline Academy will broadcast live on Shade 45 for a special edition airing from 2PM to 6PM ET | 11AM to 3PM PT during Roots Picnic weekend.

Founded by legendary hip hop band The Roots, Roots Picnic has become much more than a festival. It’s a yearly celebration of music, culture, and community. The event brings together hip hop, R&B, soul, and entertainment while highlighting both legendary artists and the next generation.
The 2026 lineup continues that tradition with another major year of performances and moments that represent the culture. From classic acts to newer voices, Roots Picnic remains one of the few festivals where different generations of music exist in the same space.
That same approach connects directly with The Punchline Academy.
Hosted by Da Inphamus Amadeuz alongside Tone Viera and Mrz Get@Em, The Punchline Academy has built a reputation on Shade 45 by bridging generations of hip hop. The platform has featured legends, rising artists, exclusive interviews, freestyles, and the viral Lyric League Series, which has surpassed 50 million views across social platforms.
The special Roots Picnic broadcast continues the mission — bringing real conversations, real artists, and real hip hop moments directly to listeners nationwide.
For The Punchline Academy, it’s bigger than just being on location. It represents the same foundation the show was built on: bringing the culture together. Whether it’s through radio, street cyphers, interviews, or live events, the goal stays the same.
Preserve the history. Highlight the present. Help introduce what’s next.
